الأوّل:
الصراحة كنزٌ لا يفنى
 

بفضل الله أنا إنسان صريح .. مع كل الناس .. وإن شاء الله لما ربنا يكرمني وأتجوّز هاكون صريح مع مراتي وعيالي .. باحب الناس تكون صريحة معايا وما تحوّرش عليا .. الشخص الصريح المباشر صادق اللهجة ده فوق راسي حتى لو متضايق مني أو طلّعني غلطان في حاجة .. مشكلتي في اللي يستصغر عقلي ويحوّر عليّا ويشتغلني .. حتى لو هيمدح فيّا .. المحلسة والنفاق عمرها ما كانت حاجة تبسط أي حدى بيفهم.
الممهم .. نكمّل
أنا في نيتي بردو بإذن الله لما يبقى عندي شركة بتاعتي هاكون صريح مع الموظفين .. وهاقول لهم لو في مشاكل بتواجه الشركة ولو في أوقات أنا اكتشفت فيها إني كنت غلطان وإن قراري كان خطأ هاقول لهم .. ده حقهم عليّا ..
ليه؟
لأن الهروب من مواجهتهم بيخلق جو من الشك في نفسهم .. ويقعدوا يسألوا نفسهم ويسألوا بعض أحياناً:
“هو فين .. مختفي ليه؟” .. “هو بيعمل إيه؟” .. “هي الدنيا كده خلاص ولّا إيه؟” .. وهكذا….
طب ما أنا ممكن أحوّر عليهم بأي هري ….
حتى لو انت مش شايف فيه مشكلة أخلاقية .. التحوير مش هيجيب نتيجة .. الناس دلوقت أذكى من إنك تضحك عليهم بشوية أونطة.
طب وأقول لهم الحقيقة ليه .. بالذات لو الوضع سيء؟
أنا مقتنع إن وقت الشدّة هو وقت اختبار معادن الناس .. الناس اللي تقدّرك لما تصارحهم ويقفوا جنبك ويحاولوا يقدموا حلول لمشاكل الشركة دول كنز لازم تعتز بإنك تعرفهم وبتشتغل معاهم. والناس اللي تسيبك وتهرب أول ما تصارحهم بإن الشركة ممكن تدخل في أزمة دول قلة معرفتهم أحسن. لكن صمتك يعتبر خسارة ليك في جميع الأحوال .. الناس اللي بتشيل وقت الشدة بتتضايق منك عشان عاملهم أكياس جوافة .. والناس اللي مش بتشيل في وقت الشدة قلقهم بيزيد أكثر والطاقة السلبية بتبقى للركب.

الصراحة فعلاً .. في العلاقات الشخصية وعلاقات العمل (بالذات مع موظفينك) كنز لا يفنى.

الثاني:
هو الغباوة بتيجي مع كبر السن والترقّي الإداري ؟
 

أسئلة بتيجي في بالي كتير .. هم ليه بيعملوا كده؟ .. هي الناس دي مش شايفة اللي العيال الصغيرين شايفاه ؟ .. هو مقتنع إن الهبل ده هيجيب نتيجة؟ .. وهكذا…
الموضوع مالوش إجابة واضحة وصريحة عندي .. هي مجرد تخمينات..
أعتقد إن لما سنك بيكبر بتبدأ تنشغل بساقية وتدور فيها .. وتهمل حاجات كتير زي إنك تتعلم كورس جديد أو تقرأ في كتاب يومياً أو أسبوعياً .. وبتبدأ لما تفضى تنشغل بالفيسبوك والهبل اللي عليه بدل أي حاجة مفيدة .. توقفك عن القراءة والتعلُّم ده مصيبة .. لأنك كصانع قرار محتاج إبداع وإطّلاع .. وده مصدره مش الفيسبوك والهري اللي عليه.
من أنجح رجال الأعمال في العالم چيف بيزوس رئيس شركة أمازون .. وده دودة كتب .. يا رب أبقى رُبعه في حب الإطلاع ونضافة الدماغ. وبإذن الله مش هابطل قراءة وتعلُّم طول ما أنا عايش :)

الثالث:
تعرف أسطورة إرچنتيف ؟
تعرف أسطورة سيزيف؟ (ملحوظة أخي السلفي.. اللي مطلعين الأسطورة أصلاً كفرة فعدّيها) ..
المهم سيزيف ده كان واحد غلط في حاجة والآلهة عملت له عقاب إنه يطلّع صخرة لأعلى قمة في الجبل وأول ما يطلّعها الصخرة تتدحرج وتنزل لسفح الجبل .. ويفضل يعيد في المهمة دي دايماً بدون توقُّف.

مين بقى إرچنتيف ؟
ده واحد الله أعلم غِلِط في إيه .. بس المانچمنت قررت تعاقبه بردو ..
وكان العقاب إنهم يدولوا تاسكات .. وكل تاسك يدوهاله يقولوا له خد بالك دي إرچنت urgent .. وساعات very urgent
وكان بياخد التاسك ويعملها بسرعة ويطلّع المطلوب ويبعته وبعدين يكتشف إنها ماكانتش urgent ولا حاجة!!

الرابع:
طب رد عالبتاع يا أخي! 

كان في حركة بلدي كده بتعملها الستّات العواجيز في الأفلام والمسلسلات لما تعمل نفسها مش سامعة الكلام اللي بيتقال .. وتسمع بس الكلام اللي عايزة تسمعه وترد عليه والباقي تعمل نفسها مش سامعاه .. في ناس بتتصرف مع الإيميلات والرسايل بنفس الطريقة .. حركة بلدي جداً جداً ومش حلوة خالص!

الخامس:
لواحد معين ماقابلتوش قبل كده ونفسي أقابله .. بص يا عم الحاج
 

أنا ماقابلتكش قبل كده بس عايز أول ما أقابلك أبوس راسك .. طبعاً هتقول إيه الواد المجنون ده .. معلش يا حج أبوس راسك وبعدين نتفاهم :)) .. أنا نفسي أقابلك النهاردة قبل بكرة والله يا حج وحبيتك من قبل ما أشوفك :))
ومن حيث مجنون فأنا على وشك الجنان آه :)) .. فصحصح معايا كده وركّز عشان خاطر نحب بعضينا أنا وانت :)) .. ربنا ما يخيبش أملي فيك وفي مخك الكبير :)

Same here with entrepreneurship. You fail 100 times and nobody knows or cares but when you make it everybody thinks that you're lucky. It's not about luck, you just don't see the failures which by all means are much more than the successes.

If you're not ready to fail and fail and fail and try harder and smarter every time then don't waste your time, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GET A FULL TIME JOB!

I live in Egypt, which is considered one of the world's developing countries. We have  problems with education. We have a high percentage of illiteracy around 28% according to Wikipedia. I read years ago about the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) project. It's a modest laptop for children that helps in revolutionising the educational sectors in developing countries.  It's a laptop that was targeted to be less than $100 and it's resistent to destructive behaviours like pouring water, falling on the floor, filling with dust. It's amazing. Watch this short video by David Pogue demoing the laptop back in 2007.

OLPC has developed a lot in the previous years, even the name became XO, and now they even announced a tablet under development. A tablet designed for kids and will be sold for less than $100. They promised that this tablet will see the light in 2012 and we hope to see it.

Simply this is amazing. But why didn't our governments adopt such great initiatives to improve education?! .. I believe they're paid to improve the country and make it better every single day but unfortunately I didn't touch this in the past few years.

I wish that someday we will have many geeks/developers/scientists from developing countries and I believe education, specially for kids, is the way to achieve this goal.

In your opinion, what does this laptop/tablet need to offer to be able to shift the education from its miserable state today to the state that we're dreaming of ? 

I wanted to blog about this long ago. Thankfully I have the experience of managing different accounts on different mobile app stores including Apple's App Store, Google Play, Ovi Store and some operator stores that are not worth mentioning :)

Every store of these has positives and negatives from developer/publisher/business points of view.

Apple's App Store

Positives:

• Clean and responsive publisher control panel
• Sharing features embedded in the store, you can share app link to social networks
• Ability to check reviews, crash reports, modify description and price from a single place.
• In a country like Egypt you, as a publisher, don't have a problem with publishing paid apps at all.

Negatives:

• The review process takes long time.
• Developer dosen't have full control on app release time and update time. Apple review may take longer than what you planned for and this is costly.
• No availability of communication channel between publisher and reviewers, not able to reply for bad reviews for example.
• The reporting system needs to be more effective cause monthly reports get deleted and If you wanted to know the total amount of sales your app made since you launched the app, you're gonna have a hard time on the control panel.
• No operator billing is available, at least in Egypt.

Google Play

Positives:

• Clean developer console interface with good analytics look.
• You can upload the app and deliver it to users within an hour, that's AMAZING. No sluggish review process and developer has more control on when to release an app.
• There are ways to do some google play store search engine optimization and it works. I've tried some of these ways, It takes some time but works at the end.
• The download numbers insights on the store encourages people to download you app If it's doning well.
• Google recently allowed top publishers to reply to customer reviews, Yay! It's a great feature although it's hard to be a "Top Developer" :)

Negatives:

• As a publisher from Egypt and some other countries, You are not allowed to publish paid apps till now. That's really annoying.
• No operator billing is available, at least in Egypt.

Nokia (Previously Ovi) Store

Positives:

• Allows paid apps downloads and publishing in Egypt.
• Operator Billing is enabled with more than one operator.

Negatives:

You know, this list can be too damn long! .. but anyway I'll point to the most annoying ones

• The publisher control panel is very old-style.
• The mobile store client doesn't allow sharing, I've emailed Nokia store team more than one time about this problem. This feature is gonna make them and the developers tons of money but they don't care!!!!
• The review process is stupid, your app can be rejected for a reason that could be detected while pressing submit instead of waiting days to know and fix the trivial problem.
• You don't have access to user reviews.
• The analytics section is delayed 2 days :s .. and the section doesn't provide much info.
• The billing matrix is weird, getting 10 downloads from india = 1 download from poland :s
• That's enough, I've some other work to do. It's almost infinite list :D

Yesterday, December 3rd 2012, was the 20th Birthday for SMS. Quoting from Wikipedia:

The first SMS message^[22] was sent over the Vodafone GSM network in the United Kingdom on 3 December 1992, from Neil Papworth of Sema Group (now Mavenir Systems) using a personal computer to Richard Jarvis of Vodafone using an Orbitel 901 handset. The text of the message was "Merry Christmas."

BTW, I don't know why on earth they sent "Merry Christmas" on December 3rd!! 

Anyway, Happy birthday dear SMS, but I'm afraid it won't be long until we say "RIP SMS!".

Why is SMS in danger ?

With the rise of the smart phones powered by iOS, Android and Windows Phone many users found cool alternatives to SMS that use the same identifier which is their mobile number. So, If you're using a smart phone and you're a subscriber of an internet plan then you most probably won't need to send SMS to many people. Smart phones have been a choice for many users even in emerging markets and developing countries. Cheap Android powered phones made it easier for the users to have a smart phone. Even the feature phones got smarter, take Nokia's Asha as an example. Now with a $150 phone you have a mobile apps store in which you can find many alternatives to SMS that will cose you nothing compared to the high price you pay for every single SMS. You can chat all day on Whatsapp and end the day paying less than the price of a single SMS.

Will operators allow SMS to die ?

I believe yes! .. But they're gonna replace it with a very cool thing. You know what's the most important feature of the SMS ? .. It's interoperable. It just works, whatever your operator, your mobile or your language. Whatsapp user won't be able to chat with somebody who doesn't have Whatsapp installed on his phone. But with SMS you don't think whether the other side has SMS capable mobile phone or not, because all mobile phones are SMS capable.

So, What's the mobile operators' reply to Whatsapp ?

Did you hear about joyn ? .. joyn is an initiative that will provide smart services like chatting, file transfer, video calls out of the box across all operators. What makes joyn powerful is that it's based on a standard called the RCS standard. When it's fully deployed I believe that it will kill Whatsapp-like applications and will help mobile operators maintain the users who they retained along the past years.

I've just received an email from pinterest. I was hesitated about reading it cause it seemed to be long, but the content captured my attention as marketing loving person.

Instead of breaking the window and trowing the announcement through it, the sender told a story. And the not-too-short email felt a nice-to-read morning message. Here's the content of the email:

We have been watching the fight between Apple and Samsung in courts.

Why is Apple worrying about Samsung that much? And why samsung specially, not Android generally ?

Following is the reason in my humble opinion.

We have seen how apple released the first iPhone, and then how the next iPhone (iPhone 3G) was different from the first one. We've also seen the first iPad and how the iPad2 was different from it.

Apple's philosophy is:

Launch a Minimum Viable Product. Wait for a year. Add a successor with little improvements & features with the same price. Your fanboys will be ultimately happy.

BUT Samsung is bugging Apple's way of doing it. Samsung releases many improvements and features in its successor models. This means in a year, samsung releases more features than Apple in their phones. Meaning that by 2016, the iPhone 7 can't be compared with Samsung Galaxy S 7. And this means that Apple needs to put extra effort to keep its market share and keep its image in the customer's mind as one of the most innovative technology companies. Samsung speed is forcing Apple's guys to get more features out, do more R&D work to come up with more prospect features that make sense. Samsung is changing the way Apple wants to play the game and this makes Apple wanna go in a thermonuclear war on Samsung and its products. Then after stopping Samsung's Black horses , it's gonna continue the war on Android. 

Will Samsung Die after these wars?

I believe the answer is NO! .. Samsung will be affected in the US (Where Apple wants to get its domination back) and some markets. But come on, Samsung will figure out their way out of this. coming wiht innovative models and designs in the same speed of Samsung today. They will get to compete severely with Apple again even in the US. And by 2016 who knows what will happen :)

I believe that Arabs Got Talent, many talents actually. Programming talents, Design talents, Business talents, Engineering talents. But unfortunately these talents aren't important for Arab audience. A hot chick is always better to watch, fund and support .. Millions of voters for hot chicks, paying millions of dollars. But to fund technology startups or young bright minds , that's not a will of our audience .. That's why we suck :(

لأ آسف ....السادة أمناء المكتبة

و بعد السلام عليكم

قلت لهم عايز أستعير كتاب 

ردت موظفة فاضلة و قالت 

كتاب إيه ؟؟

قوم أنا بذكائى أفتكر انها بتسأل على اسم الكتاب

قولتلها 

هابص على اسمه فى الإندكس 

و رحت أدور فى الإندكس اللى أحسن وصف ليه هى كلمة

معفن 

لأ كده أنا زودتها شوية

ممكن نعيد وصفه بصورة لائقة


ممكن نقول 
مالوش لازمة 

أو 

تأدية واجب ( أهو يبقى عندنا اندكس بردو ) ـ

و بعد فشل محاولات البحث اللى قمت بيها أنا و الرملى

لقينا أحمد والى بينده علينا و بيقول كتب لكمبيوتر أهه

و بعد دقيقة من بداية مدتى لقيت الموظفة نفسها بتقوللى

فى كتب تانية فوق خاصة بكمبيوتر  

قولتلها طب لو عايز أستعير الكتاب ده  

قالتلى فى كتب تانية فى الدور التالت 

كررت السؤال

لازم يكون الكتاب اللى هتستعيره موجود منه 3 نسخ على الأقل فى المكتبة

فالظاهر ان زيارتنا أفسدت على الزميلة التالتة ليهم متعة الإستماع للحوار العظيم ده

كلنا تقريباً مهندسين و معظمنا هيشتغل فى مجال الهندسة و بعضنا لأ

مجال زى الهندسة بيفرض عليك تشتغل فى فريق .. والشغل فى فريق بيكون ليه شوية جوانب كدة

أنا عندى شوية ملحوظات بس ن الشغل فى فريق

أول حاجة

أل حاجة .. أنا شايل task يبقى أنا عارف و متأكد إن ما حدش غيرى هيعملها
و ده يتطلب إن الـ task دى تكون واضحة جداً و متحدد لها input و أوتبوت عشان الـ integration ما بين شغل الناس


تانى حاجة و دى بتضايقنى جداً ..
أنا النجم كبير .. 
حاجة رزلة جداً جداً .. لما تكون just عامل الـ task بتاعتك .. و فخور أوى و مش شايف حد غيرك فى الفريق

دى فعلاً مستفزّة جداً .. موضوع الحجر على الأفكار ده .. لو انت فى فريق خد بالك منها أوى
الشخص اللى انت بتقفله كل ما يتكلم ده ممكن يقوم يضربك 

رابع حاجة و دى تقريباً أهم حاجة 
هدفنا إيه؟ .. نجاح المشروع اللى إحنا فيه .. أو المنتج اللى احنا شغالين عليه .. أو حتى الفكرة اللى بندوّر عليها
يبقى أى حاجة فى مصلحة الفكرة أو المشروع ككل هى فى مصلحتى .. حتى لو كانت مش فكرتى 
مش مشكلة لما أقول فكرة و ما يتاخدش بيها .. المهم مصلحة المشروع فى الآخر
حتى لو اللى قال الفكرة شخص انت بتستغلسه 
خامس حاجة .. 
لما حد يقوم بالمهمة بتاعته على أكمل وجه .. اشكره .. سقف له .. إعمل أى حاجة تبدى بيها إعجابك بالشغل
هتفرق معاه جامد جداً جداً و هتفرق كمان مع باقى الفريق

سادس حاجة دى بقى خاصة بالـ effective meeting

لازم يكون فى Agenda 
لو هنروح ناكل فى أول الـ meeting تبقى مكتوبة فى الـ agenda

لو هناخد فاصل ربع ساعة نقول فيه نكت .. تبقى فى الـ agenda بردو

ده اللى فى دماغى دلوقت و للأسف فى أخطاء من دى وقعت فيها كتير

الكلام ده كتبته بعد الامتحان الفاينال لمادة نظم التشغيل فى قسم حاسبات و كنت متضايق جداً

بم تفسر

باب واحد من وسط 8 أبواب ييجى عليه 27 درجة فى الفاينال و 7 درجات فى الميدترم

و واحدة من أتنح جزئيات المنهج , و اللى الناس طالبت بإنها تتلغى تيجى فى الفاينال عليها 18 درجة من 90 ؟!! ـ

فاصل و نعود

و الحمد لله الإمتحانات اتغيرت كتيييييييييييييير

بقينا أكفأ ناس فى قياس قدرة الطالب على تحمُّل الضغط العصبى , و علمناه إنه يقدر يمسك نفسه قدّام سؤال مستفذ 
و خدنا رقم 1 على العاللم فى القدرة على قياس سرعة تفريغ الذهن للمعلومات , بعد أن ظل العالم حقبة من الزمن يحسبه من المستحيلات 

لقد .... ـ

هل تعتقد إن رافائيل نادال أو فيدرير بيلعبوا تنس عشان الفلوس؟؟

هل تعتقد إن يَنّى بيعزف موسيقى عشان الفلوس؟؟

طب ليه دول نجحوا رغم إن هدفهم الأول مش بيبقى الفلوس؟؟

كان فى حكمة بتقول " حب ما تعمل إن لم تعمل ما تحب " ـ

مش عاجبانى الصراحة و هاقول

إعمل ما تحب .. و كلما إزددت له عشقاً .. ستجعل الكون كله يحب أن يشاهدك و أنت تعمله

الحب هو رقم 1 , لو كنت بتحب حاجة فضولك هيزيد ناحيتها هتتعلق بيها و هتركز عليها و حبك ليها ده هو اللى هيدفعك فى مشوارك نحو تحقيق الهدف (اللى هيتجدد باستمرار)

أحد المخترعين كان بيقف قدام معارض الآلات الميكانيكية يتفرج على الآلات دى .. كان بيتكلم معاها .. كانت بتتكلم معاه .. بس بلغة ما حدش يفهمها غيرهم .. كانوا كتير بيفتكروه مجنون .. بس هو ماكانش شايفهم أصلاً


طيب بعد الحُب ده ؟؟

ليس بالحُب وحده يحيا الإنسان

اللى بيحب حد .. بيبقى مشغول بيه

لو حبيت حاجة .. إشغل نفسك بيها

إشتغل .. إشتغل .. إشتغل

ركز .. ركز .. ركز

و بعدها .. ساعد الناس من خلالها بدون انتظار مقابل

ساعتها هتعرف الفلوس و حب الناس ليك بيجوا منين


طيب نيجى للصعوبات اللى هتقابلنا

قبل ما تحقق حاجة كتير بيقول لك مستحيل

علرف : لو انت قلت لنفسك مستحيل , هيبقى مستحيل , آه والله

كان فى ألعاب القوى بيعتقدوا إن مستحيل حد يقطع مسافة 100 متر فى زمن أقل من ** ثانية و يفضل عايش

و كانوا اللاعبين مصدقين الكلام ده

لحد ما لاعب واحد قال هم قاسوا الكلام ده على قدراتهم .. مش قدراتى .. و اتدرب لحد ما فعلاً كسر الرقم ** ده

بعدها بفترة وجيزة جداً ..كذا لعيب غيره كسروا الرقم ** ده و كسروا رقمه هو كمان

طب إيه اللى كان موقّـفـهم قبلها؟؟

إعتقدوا إن ده مستحيل ..

من القصة دى لازم تخلى فى بالك إن إنت اللى بتحط تعريف كلمة مستحيل لنفسك

و بالتالى أكبر عدو ليك فى سبيل الوصول للإنجاز ده هو الـ CRAP ـ
CRAP :

Criticism : I am not smart enough, I did many mistakes before, people in my community are idiots and won't accept such idea , " you are idiot" x

Rejection: when they say "Actually we don't need this invention" or " thanks , but this idea will cost us much to implement " , bla bla bla

Assholes: Those who always say " Impossible " or " Who do you think you are ?? , there's no SuperMan " , etc

Pressure: avoid it by visualizing the end in your mind , and of course doing what you love will make pressure handling be an easy task 


شوية حاجات بافكّر نفسى و بافكّرك بيها

لما بتحقق إنجاز ما حدش بيسألك : نسبة ذكاءك كام؟؟

لما بتحقق إنجاز كل اللى كان بيقول مستحيل .. بيقعد يسقف .. و بيدور على حد تانى غيرك يقول له مستحيل

لما تقع .. قوم بسرعة و ما تبصش حواليك .. الطفل الصغير لما بيقع .. بيقوم بسرعة يكمل مشى .. و يقع تانى .. و يقوم تانى .. لو عشت بروح الطفل ده .. هتعيش مبسوط .. اللى هيضحك عليك ده يدخل فى فئة الـ Assholes اللى انت هتنفضلهم أصلاً

إدعى كتر إن ربنا يثبتك و يوفقك و استعين دايما بربنا

و بعد الإستعانة كل شئ هينٌ و دون الاستعانة تعظم الأسبابُ

ربنا يرزقنا القوة و الإرادة
